Day 31 of Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween!

This is the last day of the Hop! What a great experience it has been. Thank you to Tori and Terra at Smeared & Smudged for organizing this great event. I used Haunted Mansion 2013 by Rick St. Dennis for the background of this piece. It was printed on designed Kraft paper and lightly colored with markers. It looks like Mr and Miss Skellie met and now their hearts beat for each other. And, just like in the movies, this scary tale has a happy ending.

Skulls were made from clay using a Studio G clear stamp. Bodies were made from clay using a candy mold.

Day 30 of Smeared & Smudged of 31 Days of Halloween!

I used a clear stamp from Studio G to create this skellie's clay face. Her corset is made from clay also. The body came in a package of six posterboard die cuts from Michael's. I used alcohol inks to color her body. The card is embellished with chandelier designed kraft paper and ribbon.

Only two days left of the hop! I made some projects just in case and here is one of them. I used a clear stamp from Studio G to create this skellie's clay face. His ribs are from a candy mold. The body came in a package of six posterboard die cuts from Michael's. I used alcohol inks to color his body. The card is also embellished with ribbon.

Pumpkin Fat Page

I used an Octopode Factory stamp for this fat page. He was already colored but I grunged him up with some chalks. The fat page is embellished with ribbon, glitter and a bat button (shank removed).

Boo Ghosts

The ghosts, bat and "boo" on this card are rubber stamps from a Recollections set. The ghosts are paper pieced. Green ghosts just didn't look right, lol! The vintage pumpkins are from last year's free Retro Cafe Art Halloween sheet. The large bat is cut from felt using a Tim Holtz die cut.

I created this Edgar Allan Poe bookmark/plant stick from an altered domino and craft stick. I colored the domino with the alcohol ink and then used permanent black ink to stamp on Edgar's face. The crown and wings were stamped on to design paper. They were laminated to add stability. The piece is embellished with three golden rhinestones and a scrap of eyelash trim.

Pumpkin Tag

I used a rubber stamp from Studio G to create this fun tag. I stamped the pumpkin face on a piece of design paper and then paper pieced his eyeball and the green stem. The tag is embellished with washi tape, a black rhinestone, fabric, raffia, ribbon and a skeleton button (shank removed).

Day 25 of Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween - Smeared Ink Day!

Today is a Smeared Ink Day on the Halloween Hop. I used the freebie that is offered on the forum site to create this fun card. I colored the digital stamp with colored pencils and blended with mineral spirits. The card is embellished with a a sign I created from a sandwich pick and a sentiment from one of my design papers, some candy corn buttons (shank removed) and a glittery spider.

Ghoulish Halloween - DB (DT)

The DILLY BEAN FRIDAY CHALLENGE 

 this week is HALLOWEEN! 

The Dilly Bean Challenges now require that you use a Dilly Bean Image on your submission.

I used Dilly Bean stamp #271 ghoul to create this little assemblage piece. I used chalks to color the stamp and added some glitter to his toothy grin. I wrapped black and white baker's twine around a wooden spoon to create the ghoul's body. The body is attached to a paper mache coffin that I painted black. The tag is a rubber stamp from Craftsmart (Michael's). The bats stamped on the moon are from Inkadinkado. The piece also has buttons, seed beads, wire and ribbon.

Day 24 - Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween - Ghost Stories ATC

Day 24 of Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween!

 

I used all Gecko Galz products on this ATC. The background paper is candy corn from the Hocus Pocus collection. The digital stamp is the freebie for the month of October. Here is the link to grab yours. The frightened little boy is from the Bump in the Night Collection. I fussy cut around him and propped him on foam dots. The candle was part of the picture but I placed it in his hands on a foam dot also. There are wisps of spider web behind the image and around the book. I just love this big glittery orange spider so he is dangling from the web.

I am sharing this posting with DominoArts today. I colored a standard sized domino with alcohol inks and then stamped on the tombstone design with an inkadinkado clear stamp. The skeleton is from one of those inexpensive packs you can get at a discount store. I jazzed him up with a party hat, pompom scarf and some shiny red eyes. He is a real party animal.

Day 19 of Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween!

I used a lot of elements to create this digital card. My wolfman is from the Octopode Factory. I colored him with pencils and then scanned him back into the computer. The carriage and potion bottles are from Smeared Ink. Special effects are from Pizap.

I created this card after watching a music video on the Musically Challenged site. The song is Bark at the Moon by Ozzy Osbourne. The music is fun and the video is full of dark and twisty images. Check it out and make a project before the challenge ends on 10/25.

Death's Dance

I used digital stamps from Smeared Ink to create this design. The skeleton and devil woman are from the As Death set and the grate is from the Quoth the Raven set. The sentiment is from the As Death set also but I had to change the font. Special effects were created in Pixlr.

Floral Doodle with Pink Skull Bead Pendant Necklace

Glass Tiles from Lowe's

This retro inspired orange and pink pendant is made from an altered glass tile from the home improvement store. I adhered a piece of white fabric to the front of the tile with glossy accents. The fabric was painted with watered down orange and pink acrylic paints. I rubber stamped the floral doodles (Hampton Art) with permanent ink. The piece is sealed with water based varnish. A pink howlite skull bead is attached with a scrap of black chain.

The tile measures 1 7/8 x 1/2 inches. A black painted metal nut is attached as a bail. I used glossy accents as my glue. First attaching the nut and letting the glue dry overnight. The next day I added more glossy accents around the base of the nut to reinforce the hold.

The pendant is strung on a 24" steel colored ball chain. I like this type of chain because it can be cut with scissors if you want to shorten it.

I used rubber stamps from Smeared Ink's urban grunge set to ink up this altered glass tile pendant. Perhaps Frankie is missing some nuts and bolts, lol!  A skull charm was added to amp up the creep factor.

Wing of Bat Potion Labels - DB (DT)

I used Dilly Bean image #212 Hypno Eye Bat Girl for my DT piece today. I colored the image in PSE. The bottle label is embellished with chalk, glitter, rhinestones and a bat button (shank removed). The hang tag is paper punched and has an image from the Graphic's Fairy. The bat is made from hot glue in a Martha Stewart silicone mold. The piece also includes ribbon and felt bat trim.

I have been so impressed with the bloggers who are mixing digital stamps, rubber stamps and ephemera that I decided to play along. My collage images are from Gecko Galz. They are from the Spooky Domino Collection. Did you know that Gecko Galz has digital stamps also? Check out their online store for some great designs!

Some of the collage designs also have a little rubber stamp added (spiders & bats). The backs of all the tags have been rubber stamped. All the tags have a little embellishment. The tags are paper punched from designed craft paper.
