Bee Mine ATC

I love making ATC's. You can focus on an image and not get hung up on how you are going to fill up the rest of the space on your card. I made this ATC with a stamp called Amber Heart Balloon by Just Some Lines. They have some of the cutest digital stamps on the web. Check out their store.

I colored the image with colored pencils and blended with mineral spirits. I then ran it through the photoshop program and gave it some texture. So much fun! I love playing with my new toy.

The ATC is embellished with a bee charm and glitter.

I am entering this ATC in the following challenges:

Just Some Lines - add a charm
Wicked Wednesday - add a charm
One Stop Craft - #213 sparkle & bling
Card Crafter's Circle - green & yellow
Paper Make-up Stamps - hearts

Robot Love - Dilly Bean DT

The challenge this week at Dilly Bean Friday Challenge is to add some metal accents to your project. I used a gear and a rusty washer from my husband's junk jar on my card. The dots on the antenna tips are mini metal brads. The Dilly Bean design I used is #434 Static Robot. I printed the design out on the orange design paper and then paper pieced the antenna, eyes and mouth. I added some glitter to the "static"!

There is a Dilly Bean sale going on this week. This would be a great time to buy some wonderful Dilly Beans digital stamps or to add to your collection. The solid lines and simple designs are very easy to color and play with.

I hope you have been inspired to join the fun at Dilly Beans this week. Please check the site for rules and prizes. Also, take a look at the wonderful creations posted by my fellow DT members. They are a very talented group!

Alice Pendant Necklace

I created this pendant necklace with a rubber stamp from Crafty Secrets. I smeared some turquoise and gold acrylic paint onto a ceramic tile from the home improvement store. Once that I was dry, I rubber stamped my Alice onto the tile with black permanent ink. I then added a layer of Mod Podge Dimensional Magic to seal everything. I colored around the edge of the tile with a silver Sharpie permanent marker. I added a golden teabag and tag charm.

I am entering this pendant in the following challenges:

Alice and Friends

This great digital stamp is from Rick St. Dennis. You can find his wonderful digital creations on his Etsy Page. I colored the image with colored pencils and blended with minerals spirits. I then scanned it into the computer and had fun playing in Photoshop with it. I'm new to PS so I have no idea how I achieved this great effect but it looks almost like a watercolor painting now. So much fun!

I am entering this digital creation in the following challenges:

Digital Tuesday - #193 flower power

Cat's Meow Necklace

I made this tile pendant with a free image from the Fripparies and Butterflies site. If you like to collect vintage photographs, check out the six beautiful images that are free for the taking. There is also a challenge going on if you would like to win more Gecko Galz prizes.

This is the first time I used the shipping tape transfer technique. It took me two tries to get it right. The first one I rubbed off too much of the paper. It is a delicate balance. I glued the image onto a home improvement tile with Mod Podge dimensional glue. I didn't notice until it was dry but it did smear the ink slightly (I have an inkjet printer). But I liked how it looked anyway. The pendant is embellished with three iridescent sequins.

I am entering this pendant in the following challenges:

GG Cat's Meow Challenge - use an image
Divas by Design - #68 make it girly
Cute Card Thursday - #252 diamonds are forever (sparkle)
Crafty Catz - anything but a card

My Muse

This is the first time I have made a button fairy. It was so much fun to make, you will be seeing more in the future. The head and face I used is free from Fripperies and Butterflies. Use this link and you will be able to choose from six beautiful vintage women photographs. There is also a challenge going on if you use one of the images in your artwork by the 19th you may win a prize from Gecko Galz. The butterfly is from the Gecko Galz Store. See their store for a large variety of beautiful collage sheets.

I designed my collage and then laminated the body of the butterfly for durability. I strung five buttons together on fine silver wire to create the butterfly body and tail. There are seed beads at the tip of the tail. I punched a circle out of black paper and added the word "muse" to the top button. I used dimensional glue to give the button a glass like finish.

There are a lot of sites with instructions on how to create a button fairy. I looked a few and then did my own thing. I hope you will be inspired to create something for the Gecko Galz challenge and to make your own "muse".

I am entering this button fairy in the following challenges:

GG Cat's Meow Challenge - use vintage image
Corrosive Challenge - out with the old (buttons)
Divas by Design - #68 make it girly
Frilly & Funky - follow your muse

Smeared & Smudged January Blog Hop

Welcome to the Smeared & Smudged January Blog Hop. The challenge is to create something that is rip, torn and folded!

 Blog Roll

I created a pocket card for the January Blog Hop. I used two Smeared Ink digital stamps from the Heart Wings collection for my winged heart. The sentiment is a rubber stamp from Stampers Anonymous. I don't know about anyone else, but I had a hard time trying to create something that was ripped, torn and folded, lol!
The card is embellished with a strip torn from an old book, lace hearts, two metal washers and a silver pearl. The card was looking way too pretty so I liberally swiped it with a brown stamp pad.

Please hop over to Lady B's site to see what she has ripped, torn and folded for our amusement.

I used a Stitchy Bear stamp this week called "Butterfly Love". Check out their store for a large variety of stamp designs. I colored the image with colored pencils and then ran it through the Photoshop Elements program that I got for Christmas. I'm learning something new everytime I use it. The jar image is from Dover clipart. I managed to put the fairy in the jar and add the word "fairy". I still have a lot to learn, lol! The ATC is embellished with glitter, micro beads, eyelash yarn and a paper flower. It has been dark and rainy in New York, so please excuse the lackluster photo.

Goth Valentine

I created this Valentine card with a digital stamp from Delicious Doodles. Please visit the Delicious Doodles shop and check out the wonderful digital stamps for sale there. My card is embellished with two die cut hearts, glitter, and gems. The party hat is something new I picked up on clearance yesterday. It was bright blue with pink dots before I altered it. Which leads me to a tip.

Top Tip: If you have an embellishment you want to use on a creation but it is the wrong color, simply alter it. The party hat in this creation was bright colors and glittered. I used some gesso to cover the print and then I added the color I wanted. I couldn't find my black paint so I used a water color crayon and blended with water to change the hat to black. I then added paper punched dots.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Delicious Doodles - #17 sparkle and shine

First Photoshop Creation

Wow...who knew learning Photoshop Elements was going to be so complicated to learn. Santa brought me Photoshop Elements 7 and a Bamboo Tablet for Christmas. It took me almost an hour to get the frame on this picture.  If anyone knows any good tutorials, please leave links in the comment area. I would appreciate the help.

The image is from Artchix for a coloring contest on facebook. I colored the image with Prisma colored pencils and then scanned it into the Photoshop program for enhancements. Well, tried to anyway. So much to learn...but having fun figuring out what all the buttons are for.
