This is the first time I have made a button fairy. It was so much fun to make, you will be seeing more in the future. The head and face I used is free from Fripperies and Butterflies. Use this link and you will be able to choose from six beautiful vintage women photographs. There is also a challenge going on if you use one of the images in your artwork by the 19th you may win a prize from Gecko Galz. The butterfly is from the Gecko Galz Store. See their store for a large variety of beautiful collage sheets.
I designed my collage and then laminated the body of the butterfly for durability. I strung five buttons together on fine silver wire to create the butterfly body and tail. There are seed beads at the tip of the tail. I punched a circle out of black paper and added the word "muse" to the top button. I used dimensional glue to give the button a glass like finish.
There are a lot of sites with instructions on how to create a button fairy. I looked a few and then did my own thing. I hope you will be inspired to create something for the Gecko Galz challenge and to make your own "muse".
I am entering this button fairy in the following challenges:
GG Cat's Meow Challenge - use vintage image
Corrosive Challenge - out with the old (buttons)
Divas by Design - #68 make it girly
Frilly & Funky - follow your muse
