Puppy Love

I created this card for a friend who recently lost her dog named Greta after 16 years of companionship. I don't know if her heart is ready to accept another pet into her life yet, but when she is ready there are lots of dogs needing some love and affection.

I used a rubber stamp from PSX for my puppy image. The paw prints are from Inkadinkadoo. I punched some circles out of design papers and a newspaper ad. I layered everything together and embellished the finished design with a lace heart.

Tea Time

Tea Time Card

If you like Alice in Wonderland, you have to check out the artwork on the Altered Alice site. They have a monthly challenge in reference to an excerpt from the book. The DT samples are fabulous as well as the challenge submissions. I used a teapot I found on the internet as a base for my Mad Hatter character. I'm not sure where I obtained the Mad Hatter figurine from. I'm not always good about naming my files and there is no reference name on the clip art sheet it came on. The card says "someone needs to wash the dishes" in reference to Chaper 5.

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:

Alota Rubber Stamps - circles

I created this tag with a dancer image from Gecko Galz on the Bella Creations site. I added a little pink chalk to the tutu to give it some more color. I also gave her some wings so she can fly away from the nest she is resting in. The background image is from the Graphics Fairy. I layered the nest with netting and some shiny garland I had from Christmas. I gave the tag some bling with rhinestones and a sequin.

I am entering this tag at Bella Creations and the following challenge sites:

The Bride

Frankenstein's Bride Collage

This week's Macabre Monday challenge at Haunted Design House is called "from the bone pile". I guess this means creating something ghoulish with just the scraps from previous creations. I used my scraps from the last challenge (Menacing Mermaid) and created another underwater scene. The "bride" is line art from color your own.com. The faces and words came from a movie poster that I cut apart to collage with. The sea plants are from my Flickr Group - Collage Images (not for posting art). I hope my creation is scary and scrappy enough for the "bone pile" challenge.

The challenge at the Cheerful Stamp Pad is to use and explain your favorite background technique. I recycled a page from a damaged book and colored it with Caran D'Ache water-soluble colour crayons. I then blended the colors with water and a paper towel. You let this dry and you have a background that looks like a water color painting. Easy to do with great results.

I am also entering this collage in the following challenges:

Top Tip Tuesday - "T" is for page torn from book & tulle
Gingerloft - #21 beads (I used beads for the fish eye and on the sea plant)
The Paper Shelter - #20 anything goes

Please view the artwork on the above-mentioned sites. The Design Teams work very hard to supply inspirational pieces. You will be inspired to create some art of your own.
