This mixed media piece started on a large index card. The background was created with paper scraps. A stencil and gouache paint were used to create the pattern. Rubber stamps and brown and black ink were used to create the gears and squiggles. The edges are inked with Tim Holtz distress ink. The lovely Frida mermaid is from Etsy.
