Day 11 of S&S 12 Days of Creepmas!

I

I used a digital stamp from Rick St. Dennis called Mr. Shadows for this altered tree. I picked up this wooden tree at the Goodwill store and used the backside for my piece today. I painted it green, distressed it with sand paper and then stamped on some spider webs. The piece is embellished with yellow dimensional paint (on candle tips), a clay skellie face and a mod melt dish with a resin star shaped cookie.

Day 10 of S&S 12 Days of Creepmas!

I used two digital stamps from Rick St. Dennis for this digital card. The pouty girl is called Lizzywhigs and the tree is called Creepmas Tree Black Stars. Check out Rick's Zibbet store for some awesome Creepmas stamps. He also has mainstream Christmas digitals for those of you who prefer less scare in your projects. 

I colored Lizzy with colored pencils and markers and then scanned her into PSE. The bloody background paper is from Gecko Galz (Gothica Collection). I added the plaid, cracks and lettering with Pixlr. Pixlr is a free photo editing program. You can have a lot of fun with it!

Domino Art Doll - 2013 Favorite Project

This art doll is one of my favorite projects for 2013. I created her for a mascot challenge going on at DominoArts. She actually won and is pictured on their website.

I created the body for this domino art doll with the following materials: two wooden spools, a wooden clothespin, one poker chip and one full size domino. The face and wings are collage designs from Paper Imagery Designs. The paper hat is designer paper that I distressed with oil pastels. The face and wings have been laminated for durability. I colored the domino with alcohol inks and then stamped on the diamond pattern (Tim Holtz) with permanent ink. The doll is embellished with tulle trim, alphabet letters, black half pearls, eyelash yarn and a sequin sewn on with a seed bead.

The tag is embellished with glitter, a snowflake button (shank removed, a snowflake charm, and a safety pin.

Top Tip: Have fun layering the paper scraps on your desk top for a colorful and unique background.

Trim the Tree Ornament - DB (DT)

The Dilly Bean Challenges now require that you use a Dilly Bean Image on your submission.

I used Dilly Bean stamp #509 Amalia's Christmas Lights for this ornament. I colored the image with PSE and markers. I painted the paper mache ornament red before layering on my pieces. The ornament is embellished with snowflake sequins, a circle and tag diecut, three red rhinestones (berries), baker's twine and glitter. I used glossy accents on the colored lights. It's not a good idea to apply glossy accents and then place your piece in front of fan to dry faster. My glossy accents dried faster but looks pretty wonky.

I used a Stampotique stamp called Gobby Lin for this ornament. I covered the puzzle piece with a bit of scrap paper and then used water color crayons to add some red and green. I distressed the edges with a Tim Holtz tool. The design was stamped with permanent ink and colored with markers. The ornament is embellished with glitter, three rhinestones, a glittery mushroom, baker's twine and a deer charm.

Day Five of S&S 12 Days of Creepmas!

I used a digital stamp called Creepmas Bones by Rick St. Dennis for this banner. The banner is created from a page torn from a damaged book. I randomly painted on some gesso and then did some stenciling with yellow paint. A recycled paint sample is the design paper. The banner is embellished with glitter, a skeleton's arm, spider web and a bow.

I used a digital vintage image from Gecko Galz for this ATC. The design is from the Christmas Chic collection. I used ink and my distress tool to give the papers an aged look. The ATC is embellished with a metal snowflake charm, a pearl and some ribbon.

Altered Memory Game Card & Poker Chip Ornament - DominoArt Day 6

 DominoArt 12 Days of Christmas Festival - Day Six

To create this fun ornament, I covered the memory game card with a scrap of design paper. I stamped the design twice on design paper. One head and bodice piece I glued to the the game card. The second piece,  I used foam dots to pop it up. I glued the arms and legs to a heavier piece of cardstock before cutting them out. I used my smallest hole punch and my smallest brads to make the parts moveable. I paper punched out the girls face and glued it to the center of a poker chip. I then used Glossy Accents on the arms, legs and her pretty face. I made a halo of rhinestones around her face and added some gold paint to her wings and the star. A small scrap of lace is glued to her waist.

Day Three of S&S 12 Days of Creepmas!

I created this banner with an digital stamp called Creepmas Girl from Rick St. Dennis. I colored her with colored pencils and markers. The banner is a recycled page from a damaged book. I did some distressing with tearing and inking.  The banner is embellished with glitter, a red rhinestone, a bell charm and bow.

It's Cold Outside - Card

I used a digital stamp from IkesArt called Let Me In for this card. I colored the image with colored pencils and blended with mineral spirits. The card is embellished with netting, two snowflake buttons (shanks removed) and glitter.

Glass Tile Pendant - Rubber Stamped Designs

 

 

 

 
 

These rubber stamped pendants were made from altered glass tiles from the home improvement store. The tiles are embellished with a scrap of fabric that has been painted and then rubber stamped. The tile measures 1 7/8 x 1/2 inches. A metal hardware nut is attached as a bail. I used glossy accents as my glue. First attaching the nut and letting the glue dry overnight. The next day I added more glossy accents around the base of the nut to reinforce the hold.

It was so much fun to alter these inexpensive glass tiles from the home improvement store. You can use the same technique to alter dominoes. Think of the possibilities!
