Pink Carnation Pixie Brooch-Altered Poker Chip

This altered poker chip brooch was made from a poker chip I picked up at the thrift store. I used mod podge to attach a paper punched circle from a damaged book into the inverted center of the chip. I then sponged on two coats of gesso to prepare a base. I further altered the color with pink acrylic paint and oil pastels. The flower pixie is from Artchix (hat's in bloom) collage sheet. Varnish was applied as a sealant. Three mini red pompoms are attached to give the brooch some kitsch appeal and dimension. The pin back is attached with glossy accents.

I would like to enter this brooch in the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - #314 floral delights
Milk Coffee - welcome Spring
The Stamping Boutique - #10 create your own background (see above)
A Creative Romance - Spring flowers
Creative Fingers - #29 anything goes
Suzy Bee's - #22 Spring flowers
Come and Get it - in the garden
Simon Says Monday - anything goes
Artistic Inspirations - #85 Easter colors/anything goes
Bunny Zoe - monochrome
Creative Souls - mixed media

LOVE this piece as well! I've said it before, but I kid you not: you've got a great talent for seeing the potential in everyday objects. This brooch is incredible and I love the little pom-poms you added to give this girl even more pizazz! Thanks so much for supporting the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenges and for inspiring us by your creativity!
