Day of the Dead - Mixed Media Art

This mixed media piece started on a blank index card. Paper scraps were used to create a background (including paper from a book). The Day of the Dead woman is from Conjurer of Dreams Etsy Shop. I fussy cut around the image and used her for the focal of this piece. Color was added with coffee stains, distress sprays and distress ink. The piece is embellished with a snippet of black lace yarn and a Metallic look skeleton key.

I used water color paints on a plain large index card to create a background for this mixed media piece. A painted paper scrap and an orange slice cut from a magazine are were added for texture. I used a large index card for this mixed media piece. The background was made using a technique that used fun foam to make an impression stamp. Acrylic paint was used to create the print.
