Raven Upcycled Flashcard

Altered Flashcard
I wanted to create an upcycled art piece for Shell's September DT Challenge on Smeared & Smudged.  I used a children's flash card to create this little bit of art. I covered the image with a piece of page torn from an damaged hardcover book and used a watercolor crayon to give the background some color. The raven and the words "quoth the raven" are digital stamps from the Quoth the Raven set by Smeared Ink. I stamped a swirly-q design on the background with a Tim Holtz stamp. The card is embellished with lots of glitter to make the wings sparkle and a purple fabric bow.

I am entering this altered flashcard in the following challenges:

Forever Night - black, white + one color
Smudgy Antics - blackbird
Crafting for All Seasons - #36 things with wings
Pile it On - fabric
Paper Make-up Stamps - #55 anything goes
2 Sisters - 110 things with wings
Simon Says Stamp & Show - sparkle
Simon Says Stamp Challenge - anything goes
Anything but a Card - #2
Challenges for Everybody - #3 anything goes
The Paper Shelter - anything goes
Through the Craftroom Door -  #37anything goes
Creative Card Crew - #20 Purple

Before you throw things away, take a look at them and think about how you can alter or reinvent them. Always recycle when possible!

Your recycled child's flash card is truly a work of art. I love your text background that you've colored with a watercolor crayon. It's a great background for that beautiful digi raven. Nicely done! Thanks for sharing your art with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy
