Day 16 of Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween!

Day 16...we are officially half way through the Challenge...glad to see everyone is hanging in there. I am getting so many good ideas and inspirations from visiting your sites. Great artwork everyone!

I made this card with Dilly Bean Stamps (#475 little monster + #375 cute and dark sayings). I wanted to make a clean and simple card (difficult for me to do)! This little ghoul's eyes are paper pieced and propped on foam disks. They are also covered with glossy accents for some shine. His head cones also sport some glitter for some sparkle.

I used the witch from the Wizard of Oz set from The Octopode Factory for this card. I also used a rubber stamp from Craftsmart (Michael's Store). The card is embellished with some sparkle - glitter and rhinestones, a cat button (shank removed) and a silver pearl (wart on her nose).

I used a Delicious Doodles digital stamp called Death's Head Hawk Moth for this tag. I colored the stamp in PSE. My base piece is a page torn from a damaged book that I embossed and inked to add some texture. I also added texture with a piece of netting from a potato bag. The tag is further embellished with wire antennae, two rusty metal washers and two types of fibers.

I used rubber stamps from the Smeared Ink Urban Decay set for this card. I stamped the image twice and cut out the OPEN sign and attached it to the base with washers and brads. I used the screw top rubber stamp on the brads. The bat is from a prize package I received last year. I just added a little pink glitter to his eyes.

Day 12 of Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween!

I used a rubber stamp from Just for Fun to create this altered glass tile pendant. I attached a piece of fabric to the tile and colored it with acrylic paint. Then I used permanent ink to stamp on these fantastic fingers. I found this rubber company at a Stamp Show. The pendant is embellished with a howlite skellie charm.

Day 11 Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween - Skullie Clothespin Book

Day 11 of Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween - Smeared Ink Day!

I saw the idea for the clothespin book here. Check it out...there are so many different ways you could use this idea.

To prepare the clothespin, I first painted it white. I then applied some tacky glue to the area I wanted to add the Crayola Clay Magic. I let it set up briefly and then I rubber stamped into it with permanent ink and a clear stamp from Inkadinkado.

My message is from Smeared Ink. The sentiment and image are from the Death As Digital Stamp set.

Vintage Glove Pendant Necklace

This vintage and steampunk inspired pendant is made from an altered glass tile from the home improvement store. The tile was painted with red, pink and orange acrylic paints. The antique key image is rubber stamped onto the pendant with permanent ink. I sealed the piece with water based varnish. I attached a plastic vintage glove with glossy accents as my glue.

The tile measures 1 7/8 x 1/2 inches. A black painted metal nut is attached as a bail. I used glossy accents as my glue. First attaching the nut and letting the glue dry overnight. The next day I added more glossy accents around the base of the nut to reinforce the hold.  A tattered scrap of  black tulle is tied around the bail.

The pendant is strung on a 24" steel colored ball chain. I like this type of chain because it can be cut with scissors if you want to shorten it.

Poker Face Card

I used Smilin Joe from Rick St. Dennis for this card. I colored the card with colored pencils and blended with mineral spirits. I also did some shading in PSE. The card is embellished with a real playing card, glitter and it's hard to see in the photo but I used glossy accents on the card stuck in his hat and his rotten teeth.

Altered Glass Tile Pendant Necklace - Grungy Lace

This grungy lace pendant is made from an altered glass tile from the home improvement store. The tile has been altered with acrylic paint and a scrap of lace. The tile was painted off white and the scrap of lace was painted grey/gray. I attached the lace to the pendant with Glossy Accents. Once the GA was dry, I drybrushed the red accents onto the tile. The tile was then sealed with water based varnish.

The tile measures 1 7/8 x 1/2 inches and has a well weathered silver colored metal nut attached as a bail. I used Ranger Glossy Accents for my glue. I attached the nut and let it dry overnight. Then I used the GA all around the base of the nut again to really reinforce the bond.

The pendant is strung on 20 inches of chain with a barrel clasp. To use up some of my smaller pieces of chain, I joined the pieces with an enameled square. The pendant has a tattered and rustic vibe to it. I hope you will make one for yourself.

Celtic Fairy Square Card

I used Celtic Fairy from Delicious Doodles to create this card. I colored the image in PSE and then cut her out. The card is embellished a scrap of ribbon, lots of mini rhinestones and her fairy wings are glittered.

Altered Glass Tile Pendant - Foliage

This unique pendant is made from an altered glass tile from the home improvement store. The pendant is embellished with a raised foliage pattern. The funky fern is die cut from fun foam. Really...who knew? I painted the front and back of the tile with orange acrylic paint. I painted the fern brown and attached it to the tile with Glossy Accents. I then did some color washes and dry brushing to achieve the distressed and weathered final look. The piece is sealed with water based varnish.

The tile measures 1 7/8 x 1/2 inches. A rusty silver colored metal nut rescued from my husband's hardware discards is attached as a bail. I used Glossy Accents to glue the nut on and let it dry overnight. Then I used the Glossy Accents all around the base of the nut again to really reinforce the bond.

The pendant is tied on a 24" steel colored ball chain with a scrap of off white leather. The necklace has an organic earthy vibe.
